April Fool -- and One Who Wasn't

Today is my dad's birthday.

He was anything BUT an April Fool, but suffered The Mama's efforts to yank his chain on his natal day. Her favorite was salt in the sugarbowl, which she did year after year after YEAR.

I asked him once why he patiently spooned salt into his coffee every April 1, knowing what he was getting.

He grinned at me. "Because she likes to do it," he said.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY with love, Pa.  See you soon.

If you'd like to torture your favorite people on this day:

Youtube has dozens of videos on the subject.
Just skip salt in the sugarbowl, though...
